Live 2011 Golden Globes Blog!

Posted: Sun, 16 Jan 2011 15:41:00 PST

Welcome my award show loving brethren...and my first ever live blog for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards....The color, the pageantry, the "I was in the ladies room" excuses of the winners (how about that Christine Lahti)...

Anyway, I'll hope you'll keep me dialed up for the duration of the show along with your other fave reporters on site for the big shoo.

5:40 pm-Most beautiful site on the red carpet thus far: Elizabeth Moss from Mad Men...Perfect hair, gorgeous black dress that fits her perfectly

5:42 pm-Hailee Steinfeld looking adorable in a partially shoulderless white gown...Justin Beiber better be nice to America's newest sweetheart.

5:43 pm-I'll have what Jimmy Fallon's having....Is this guy never bereft of engergy. Love the way he gives out hand slaps....If Gervais doesn't get invited back next year, I'd love to see Jimbob get the call.

6:00 pm-Natalie Portman's dress would be perfection...if not for that eye sore of a red rose on her dress...What, is she bucking for a cameo on The Bachelor?

6:01 pm-Natalie Morales working the red carpet for NBC looking even more beautiful than some of the nominees. Terrific reporter, too.

6:10-So lovely to see Sandra Bullock out and about tonight..Beautiful bangs, nice dress...

6:13 pm-Just caught a photo of Olivia Wilde from earlier via Pop Sugar; stunning as usual.

6:18 pm-Funniest line of the night so far on the Red Carpet courtesy of Glee's Matthew Morrison: Reporter: What are you wearing? Morrison: A tuxedo.

6:19 pm-Christina Aguilera looking heavenly in nicely designed black gown.

6:20 pm-Is Justin Beiber auditioning for the big screen version of Where's Waldo with those oversized fake glasses? He's fortunately lost them as of this post, thankfully?

6:22 pm-Not a big Angelina Jolie fan, but she does look pretty this eve. Green gown complimenting her skin tone and hair very nicely.

6:24 pm-Funny quote from Joan Rivers via Twitter: The Golden Globes' red carpet is in full swing and the starlets are out! These girls are so thin…they’d tell Gandhi to drop a few pounds.

6:35 pm-A very emotional Kevin Spacey paid tribute to the late director of Casino Jack. Always a very classy guy

.

6:37 pm-Sofia Vergaria need not have worried on her Twitter feed about not finding a dress to fit. The red number she's donning scores in all the right places...Also, a very funny lady as to the noise of the crowd saying it feels like she's home.

6:38 pm-Her dress is probably gonna be panned big time, but I adored January Jones' peek-a-boo red dress and beautifully styled hair; ever the charmer.

6:39 pm-An egad moment: What in the world is Jennifer Love Hewitt wearing? A bird bath?
Cojo from E.T. is gonna have a field day with this one
.

6:45 pm-So cool to see Michael Douglas and wife Catherine looking relaxed and charming tonight. We're forever in your corner, guys.

6:47 pm-Is NBC's Alexa Chung without an earpiece tonight? Beyond awkward....and I don't think she knows the meaning of the broadcast term "stretch"...

6:50 pm-Anne Hathaway, the male contingent of the world also loves how you're "feeling" in your dress tonight. Wow.

7:03 pm-Gervais having a wicked time with The Hollywood Foreign Press and The Tourist controversy.. I think Johnny Depp is digging it...Hopefully...

7:05 pm-Yep, Ricky's worrying the censors with tongue action talking about a certain body part on Hugh Hefner...and I'm diggin' it.

7:08 pm-Not keen on Scarlett Johansen's dress tonight...too....something...can't put my finger on it...

7:09 pm-Christian Bale is our first award winner tonight(Best Supprting Actor/The Fighter)...and it looks like predictability is in order...which is why I didn't make any predictions this evening...also haven't seen any of the films nominated save for Toy Story 3...Okay, one prognostication; that'll win for best animation feature...

7:11 pm-What the hell did Bale just do that was censored? A stage version of his Terminator rant?

7:12 pm-Hey Bale, you sure you don't wanna hang out with Julie Bowen and LL Cool J to help present the next award?

7:13 pm-Katey Sagal deserves an additional award for that dress.. (Best Supporting Actress/Sons Of Anarchy). .She is red hot gorgeous tonight...and a terrific actress to boot...and for being so called unprepared, what a great, from the heart speech...

7:17 pm-Joe Montega? You did good (what a beautiful daughter)...

7:20 pm-Carlos crew? The hook from the Apollo's coming out...

7:21 pm-Gervais, you are one courageous bloke ("Ashton Kutcher's Dad:")...

7:24 pm-Way to go Chris Colfer winning for Glee/Best Supporting Actor, Comedy..A very sincere, heartfelt kid.

7:32 pm-I don't think the prez of the Hollywood Foreign Press is too fond of Mr. Gervais, saying if he wants his films to qualify for future Globes, "find another guy". Ooooh...and TOUCHE'!!

7:33 pm-Wow, Milla Jovovich's gonna be in an actual movie next year? (Three Muskateers). Cool. Nice gown and 'do, btw.

7:36 pm-Steve Buscemi wins for Boardwalk Empire. Haven't seen it, but he never does crap.

7:37 pm-Somebody grab Steve backstage, the Empire gang's scored another 'un.

7:40 pm-Nice cutaway of Jolie adjusting hubby Pitt's tie. Cute.
7:45 pm-Nice of songwriter Diane Warren (Winner/Best Song; You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me) remembering fallen colleague Ronnie Chasen.
7:50 pm-When I saw Trent Resnor covered in mud in a photo taken at one of the Woodstock concerts, never in my wildest dreams would he would hold/win a Golden Globe.
7:57 pm-Hailee Steinfeld and and that Justin kid looking cute.
7::58 pm-Yea! My only prediction comes true (Toy Story 3)...Keep rockin', Pixar...
8:00 pm-Okay folks, I'm moving to Twitter courtesy of tech problems...join me there at:
