John Fugelsang

In the days when American music video channels still had shreds of dignity, personality and well, personalities introducing music videos (remember those, folks?), VH1"s John Fugelsang was a stand-out amongst the throng.

Wonderfully witty with boy next door charm, music geek appeal, and funny, razor sharp political observations, his talents weren't limited to cable channel audiences, co-hosting America's Funniest Home Videos with Daisy Fuentes in the late 1990's, playing both fill in host and regular contributor to talk radio's Stephanie Miller Show, and over two dozen appearances on Bill Mahr's Politically Incorrect.

Two of Fugelsang's career highlights occurred in the late 1990's, interviewing former Beatles Paul McCartney and George Harrison...the former in a ground breaking combination television interview/internet chat which brought thousands of questions from fans all over the world. As for the Harrison chat, it would prove bittersweet, serving as the reclusive guitarist's final American television appearance, shared with close friend/father figure Ravi Shankar.

In addition to running a fun website, (www.johnfugelsang.com), John's really found a niche for himself on Twitter, offering timely pop culture tinged witticisms (“The Best New Artist Award tends to come with a one- way ticket to Jody Watley Island”) to his trademark political zingere (“The American Government supports the Egyptian people & hopes for a smooth transition to a new Pro-Western Dictator”)..
