Twitterer Of The Day-American Idol Edition

American Idol Week continues into the weekend as we continue saluting both past and present members of the FOX series who Twitter to the faithful. Today, we continue this series by giving props to the new kid on the block...in fact, you can call her Jenny From The Block....

-Jennifer Lopez: While doing research on this Bronx native, I'd forgotten what an amazing career she's had in addition to being a trailblazer in the Hispanic community.

Jennifer first gained notoriety as a dancer after she'd paid her dues in various Manhattan night spots, rap music videos and an American Music Awards performance with New Kids On The Block. Her big break occurred courtesy of a coveted slot as one of the Fly Girls on FOX's comedy-variety series In Living Color, which Lopez performed on from 1991-1993.

Next, Jennifer broke into the film industry after honing her craft on the small screen, guesting on series including South Central, Hotel Malibu and Second Chances. Her feature film debut came in the critically acclaimed Mi Famila with Jimmy Smits, which landed her a Best Supporting Actress Spirit Award nomination. At lightning speed, Lopez became a high in demand actress directed by some of Hollywood's heavy hitters including Bob Rafelson, Oliver Stone, Steven Soderbergh and Francis Ford Coppola. Amongst Jennifer's most memorable films in the latter half of the 1990's are Blood and Wine (w/Jack Nicholson), Out Of Sight (w/George Clooney), U-Turn (w/Sean Penn), and her breakout role in the title role of Selena, which chronicled the musical career of the ill-fated Hispanic singer.

In the years that followed, J-Lo conquered both the fields of music and fashion, the former after signing with Sony in the late 1990's. Right off the bat, she landed a top 10 album (On The 6) and a chart topping smash with If You Had My Love. Six top ten albums followed alongside 11 top 40 hits with 7 of those achieving Top 10 status, and three climbing all the way to number one.

On April 19^th, 2011, Lopez's first album in nearly four years will hit stores. Love? marks her first release on her new recording label of Island Def Jam Records, which has already spawned a hit single with On The Floor that recently became Jennifer's first top 10 record since 2003.

Although not as successful as her recording and film ventures, Lopez has dabbled in the fashion and perfume industries. In 2003,her J-Lo line launched with huge fanfare featuring a wide variety of products ranging from jeans to scarves. Her perfume fragrances since 2003 have included Glow, Live, Live Lux, and her most recent creation, My Glow.

Recently, Jennifer became yet another Twitter regular, and hopefully her activity will continue to remain consistent during her freshman year on Idol....
